A few months ago, I was talking to my friend Emma about the many ways we can be more mindful of our own health and well-being. We both agreed that a daily practice of meditation could be a great way to address those issues, as well as start to see the effects of this mindfulness on our daily lives.
So far, I have not found any such meditation practice that is vegan, and I’ve been interested in veganism for a while. I am not, however, a vegan. At best, veganism is a cultural thing (like being a vegetarian, or a vegan, or a vegan) that just doesn’t have an actual dietary basis, so in order to be vegan, it’s pretty much impossible. Emma is not a vegan, but she is still a vegetarian.
I know so many people who are vegan, but I dont know of any vegan who is also vegan. Its a fairly recent distinction because the definition of vegan doesnt really include a dietary aspect. But, there is a difference between being vegan, and being vegan for some reason. One type of vegan is someone who simply does not eat meat.
In theory, this could be interpreted as an attempt to appeal to the vegan/vegetarian market. But in reality, I think there is more to it than simply marketing to the market. I think it is about how we are all creatures of habit; all of us eat meat, but none of us eat meat every day. I think some of it is in the lack of an actual dietary basis.
The veganvegetarian market would be defined by the lack of any kind of meat. Vegans eat fish, milk, cheese, eggs, nuts, seeds, fruit, vegetables, legumes, etc. The vegan market is the market for vegan food that does not include any kind of meat! But many people feel that in order to be vegan, one has to eat meat every day.
To me, veganism is not a lifestyle. It is a way of eating that is centered on abstaining from meat and dairy. I think that the vegan market makes you not feel like a “fad” or a “lifestyle.” It makes you feel like a person who is living an ethical life.
My husband and I have decided that veganism is a lifestyle and a way of eating. We are not concerned with the animal meat that is sold in the supermarket. I know that if I don’t eat meat, I will feel guilty for not being vegan. I don’t eat meat but my husband does. He has eaten meat and dairy-free products for 20 years.
I think that the vegan message is one that people don’t need to feel guilty about. It’s not about me or my concerns as to whether or not I’m still eating meat. It’s about a lifestyle choice and about eating things that are healthy for your body and are in accordance with your values as far as it relates to the environment.
While I do believe that it is important to eat healthy, I do feel that veganism is a somewhat restrictive lifestyle choice. I think it is a lifestyle choice for many people that have grown up with a diet that has been extremely strict and often unhealthy. I think that the message of veganism is very much in line with the general values and attitudes of many people.
I’ve long considered myself to be a very strong proponent of veganism. And while I have my reservations about being vegan, I do believe that it is a good and healthy lifestyle choice. And I think that it is a lifestyle choice that many people can live a healthy and happy life with. In fact, I think that it is a lifestyle choice that many people can live a healthy and happy life as being a vegan.
